Director Biography

Marjorie Mae Treger

Marjorie Mae Treger is happy to be returning to San Diego Junior Theatre, where she spent much of her youth. Over twenty years ago she had the pleasure of directing The Boyfriend for SDJT and met her husband on opening night!

An award-winning actress and director, Marjorie has directed over 80 productions, from Simon to Shakespeare to Sondheim. Education includes a BA in Theatre from UC San Diego with minors in Anthropology and Literature, a Certificate in Acting from the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and an MA in Theatre Studies with an emphasis in Design and Technology at Southern Oregon University.

Marjorie is currently the head of the theatre program at La Jolla High School. She has also taught acting for the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts and been the Theatre Resource Teacher for the San Diego Unified School District, supporting all theatre teachers K-12. Her real passion, though, is her role as wife/mother/sister/daughter!
