GHOSTLIGHT
TECHNICAL THEATRE LEADERSHIP AT JUNIOR THEATRE
Ghostlight is Junior Theatre’s new tech club for students in grades 7 to 12 who wish to learn theatre’s best kept behind-the-scenes secrets. Through lectures, workshops, field trips, and exclusive tours, Ghostlight is the club for kids who want to know how it’s done and then do it themselves.
Ghostlight members ignite imagination and innovation through design, collaboration, and hands-on theatre tech experiences – all in a creative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
Design. Build. Lead.
Ghostlight gives tech theatre students the opportunity to grow their leadership skills while exploring scenic design, lighting, sound, costumes, makeup, props, and stage management. Members support mainstage productions, mentor younger students, and take part in building the magic of every show — from the ground up!
Events & Service Opportunities
Ghostlight members contribute to Junior Theatre in an impactful way and will be invited to participate in production paint days and strikes. They also will have the opportunity to participate in tech workshops, participate in field trips to local professional theatres, and designer ‘meet and greets’ where they will have opportunities to meet a professional in the field of design in which they are interested.
Membership
Students going into grades 7 to 12 in the upcoming school year who are interested in theatre design and technology are eligible to apply. Ghostlight members will be able to apply for crew positions during the school year without needing to enroll in a class.
The application period for the 2025–2026 season is now closed. The application period for the 2026-2027 season will open in Summer of 2026.
