San Diego Junior Theatre's 1950 touring production of The Lost Name
Genevieve Iris Turnac was born in Yuma, AZ in 1929. Her family moved to Lakeside in San Diego County, where she attended Grossmont High School. There she studied drama, worked with many school clubs and was on the tennis team.
Ms Turnac wrote The Lost Name, a short play produced by Junior Theater Wing in 1950. It was performed as part of their Summer Drama Workshop in a community outreach tour at several San Diego playgrounds.
She later attended Pomona College, was an assistant in costuming at San Jose State College until 1953, when she left her position to marry Peter K Newman.
