Bye, Bye Birdie (Advanced Musical Theatre)

Bye, Bye Birdie is one of the most captivating musical shows of our time. It is a satire crafted with the fondest affection telling the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the army. “An English Teacher,” “What Did I Ever See in Him,” “Put on a Happy Face,” “One Boy,” “A Lot of Livin’ to Do,” “Kids,” “Rosie” and “Spanish Rose” are musical theatre classics. This is the tops in imagination and good old-fashioned fun!
Designed for advanced-level performers, Advanced Musical Theatre (AMT) is by audition only. Campers will rehearse Bye, Bye Birdie and give a performance at the end of the session.
SDJT Artistic Director Rayme Sciaroni will direct this musical favorite, which tells the story of a young rock star whose visit to a small-town high school wreaks havoc for all who see him.
Please note, this AMT Camp meets June 20-July 1, 2016, at The Coronado Playhouse, from 9am to 2pm. To audition, students will prepare a one-minute song and bring their sheet music. Auditions are by appointment only. Please call the front office for more information, 619-239-1311.
The last day of camp is July 1.
