San Diego Junior Theatre's 1954 production of Alice in Wonderland
Donna Woodruff performed in many productions for the Old Globe’s Shakespeare festivals, most notably opposite fellow Junior Theatre director, Jackson Woolley in Taming of the Shrew (1950). The couple performed as the “Dramatic Duo” for various social groups and clubs in the mid 1950s.
Woodruff taught drama classes at the San Diego Community Theatre Junior Wing, and directed the JT productions of June Mad (1952) and Dear Ruth, (1952) both in the Falstaff Tavern at the Old Globe Theatre.
June Mad was the first teen-age play at San Diego Junior Theatre, the first cast with only teenagers, and the first to be staged in an arena setting.
