Carlos Solorio

Trustee

Carlos Solorio is a product of our binational regional region; born in Tijuana, BC, Mexico and raised in San Diego, CA. His grandfather, who was a photographer and an avid collector of antique cameras, bestowed upon him his love and passion for the visual arts. Carlos's growth in the visual arts strengthened at Mission Bay HS while learning dark room photography techniques, which eventually led him to SDSU and CSULA to major in TV, Film, & New Media Studies. His focus is to capture border stories of migrant and refugee families that reach our local shores and strive for educational success. Carlos and his wife met while working at Reality Changers, a non-profit that helps first generation students get to college and beyond. They are both avid supporters of the visual and performing arts in their respective fields in education and theology.
