Biography

Aisha Reddick

Aisha Reddick (she/her) is a choreographer, teacher, and movement artist based in San Diego, California. After graduating from California State University, Long Beach with a BFA in Dance, she navigated her way through the San Diego dance ecosystem, ultimately landing in spaces that fuel her aspirations to continue the cultivation of her dance practices. Aisha has had the pleasure of working with different companies and individual artists between Los Angeles and San Diego including LA Contemporary Dance Company, GEOMETRY Dance Company, Mashup Dance Company, Acts of Matter, CONTRA-TIEMPO, DISCO RIOT, LITVAKdance, Malashock Dance Company, sombodies dance theater, Tobe Nwigwe (music artist), Azuki Umeda, Rebecca Lemme, and Keith Johnson. Her work has been shared in a variety of festivals, concerts, and showcases in San Diego, Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Oregon. Currently, Aisha works as the Education & Outreach Coordinator with DISCO RIOT, and is a teaching artist at Culture Shock San Diego, BalletCenter Studios, Helix Charter High School, Canyon Crest Academy, and DISCO RIOT.

Based on the hit 1994 Disney movie and Broadway musical, Disney’s The Lion King, JR. is the timeless tale of Simba, a young lion born to be king, who is forced to flee after the death of his father, Mufasa. On the outskirts of the kingdom, Simba learns about identity, family, responsibility, and what he has to do in order to make things right for the Pride Lands. Featuring classic songs like “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Circle of Life,” and “Hakuna Matata,” the entire family will enjoy the perfect theatrical spectacle that is Lion King, JR.
