A recent transplant to San Diego, Kyle Waterman originally hails from Kalamazoo, Michigan where he attended Western Michigan University as a Technical Theatre and Stage Management major. Growing up he got his formative arts education from the Kalamazoo Civic Youth Theatre, an expansive youth program that allowed him to work both onstage and behind the scenes. Upon graduating from the program, he worked as an assistant and instructor for the education department for over a decade. During this time, Kyle also worked with a multitude of theatres and schools, building up an impressive list of credits including directing, stage management, scenic and lighting design, choreography, technical direction, and performance. Since leaving Kalamazoo in 2013, he has continued to build his resume, working first in Memphis Tennessee with Theatre Memphis and Stage Door Productions, then most recently with SeaWorld San Antonio as a Stage Manager for Azul: Lure of the Sea.
Kyle is thrilled to be calling San Diego Junior Theatre his new home and looks forward to the new adventures ahead.
