San Diego Junior Theatre 63rd Season of Shows 2010-2011

Welcome to San Diego Junior Theatre’s 63rd Season! We’re excited to present to you our nine upcoming shows, five of which are JT premieres! We kick off the big fun in bright colors with Pinkalicious, a West Coast premiere and brand-new musical based on the New York Times’ best-selling book. We then travel to a world of pure imagination in Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka at Balboa Park. In December, what better way to kick off the holidays than with everyone’s favorite first-grader, Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells?

We open 2011 with the inspirational story of Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan in William Gibson’s Pulitzer Prize winning drama The Miracle Worker and closely sneaking up behind is Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr. Fox.

You can test your inner-geek at JT’s premiere of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, showing at Casa del Prado Theatre (with audience participation!) and bringing in Spring is the magic and romance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

We close our exciting season with two imports from Broadway: the Tony-nominated A Year with Frog and Toad, based on the Newbery Award-winning books by Arnold Lobel, and Broadway hit Hairspray, winner of 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score.
