Biography

Ellen Harvey

Ellen grew up in San Diego and loved being a part of Junior Theatre. From the moment she did her first musical \”No, No, Nanette\”, (which was directed by Ole Kittleson and choreographed by Don & Bonnie Ward) she was hooked and couldn’t wait to start taking classes year round. Even though she was only at JT for two years, she did her first Shakespeare play \”A Midsummer Night’s Dream\” and ended with her most favorite role of all, \”Mary Poppins\”. She attended Helix High, but transferred to The Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis for her senior year. She graduated from CTC’s conservatory program and decided that she wanted to go to college back East. She received her BFA in Acting from Boston University, and has lived in both New York City and Los Angeles ever since. Her parents still live in San Diego, having both just retired from SDSU as Theatre Arts Professors. rnrnEllen is currently playing Ms. Darbus in the National Tour of “Disney’s High School Musical” which will end its long run in August of 2008. When not on tour (\”Mamma Mia\”, \”Doctor Dolittle\”), she lives in New York City where she has appeared on Broadway in \”The Music Man\”, \”Thou Shalt Not\”, and \”Most Happy Fella\”. She gives a big shout out to all JT alums! For more info you can go to www.ellenharvey.netrn
